As they entered Maine for the first time 27 years ago, a roadside sign proclaimed “Worth a visit, worth a lifetime.” Little did Lynn know how true those words would become. The shores, meadows, peaks, and forests of Acadia National Park became a place of rejuvenation, while the creative spirit of the Mount Desert Island community became a source of inspiration for a wide variety of artistic endeavors. That lifelong love of arts and crafts has most recently found expression in mandala painting, using acrylics on delightfully smooth cuts of engineered wood.

With the meaning of Zaman being “time,” the proverb “Time and Tide Wait for None” has long resonated with Lynn. It serves as a grounding reminder that natural processes and the passage of time cannot be stopped. Since the same is often true for her active mind and body, she finds the meditative process of painting repeating patterns both calming and restorative. Through her strengths of presence, patience, perseverance, and precision, she transforms simple elements into visual harmony for herself and others to enjoy. She hopes her work reflects how beauty can emerge when creativity and intention come together.
